Brown butter is the nearest thing a kitchen has to a spell, and we let it go nutty and golden before folding it into caramel. The milk shell melts like a Sunday that no one wants to end. Finish: toffee, warm salt and the happy noise of a found family arguing about dessert. Not quite magic. Close enough.
